Baseball Recap: Johnson Governors vs. Como Park Cougars

Johnson had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-5 to make it five. They fell 13-10 to the Como Park Cougars. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2022, but that streak is no more.

As for Como Park, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

For Como Park's part, Brendan Avant was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. John Corniea was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Coming up, Johnson will challenge Highland Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Como Park, they are taking a road trip to take on Harding at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
