After losing to Forestview the last time they met, Bessemer City decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Yellow Jackets snuck past the Jaguars with a 64-58 victory on Friday.

Raheem McClure went supernova, shooting 64% from the field to rack up 22 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024. Isaiah McCallister was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Bessemer City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Forestview lost, don't look at Zyir Sowell. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-17 on his way to 19 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Semaj Hart, who earned 12 points and eight rebounds.

Bessemer City's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Forestview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Bessemer City has already played their next matchup, a 56-50 defeat against Ashbrook on the 25th. As for Forestview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-66 loss against Stuart W. Cramer on the 25th.
