Softball Recap: Velva/Drake/Anamoose's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Velva/Drake/Anamoose strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand South Prairie/Max a 17-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Aggies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emma Balas made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Balas was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Quincy Bruner and Jenna Lohnes did most of the damage at the plate: Bruner went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Lohnes went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Lohnes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Fallon Hudkins, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Velva/Drake/Anamoose kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Velva/Drake/Anamoose's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for South Prairie/Max, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
