Volleyball Game Preview: Riverdale Chieftains vs. Cuba City Cubans

Riverdale is 1-9 against Cuba City since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Chieftains will look to defend their home court against the Cubans at 6:00 p.m. Riverdale will be strutting in after a victory while Cuba City will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Riverdale turned things around against Necedah on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Cuba City didn't have quite enough to beat Mineral Point on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Cubans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pointers 25-15 in the first set.

Cuba City actually scored more points across those five sets (105-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 20-25, 25-21, 27-25, 15-9.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Cuba City, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-9.
