Football Game Preview: Stephenville Yellow Jackets/Honeybees vs. Brownwood Lions

The Stephenville Yellow Jackets/Honeybees are taking a road trip to square off against the Brownwood Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stephenville will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Stephenville was fully in charge, breezing past Lampasas 49-7. The Yellow Jackets/Honeybees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Stephenville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cooper Fergason, Cash Kribbs, and Cooper Rudd picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Brownwood against Burnet on Friday as the squad secured a 38-7 win. The Lions have beaten the Bulldogs the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Stephenville's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Brownwood, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Stephenville against Brownwood in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 44-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets/Honeybees since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
