Basketball Recap: Le Grand Comes Up Short

Le Grand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat. They were dealt a 63-26 loss at the hands of the Denair Coyotes. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-11.

Leading Denair to victory were Koby Cervantes and Brody Fitzgerald. Cervantes dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Fitzgerald posted 11 points along with eight boards and six blocks. The dominant performance also gave Fitzgerald a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Derek Potter, who had eight points and five assists.

Le Grand's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Denair, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Le Grand will challenge Waterford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Denair, they will take on Stone Ridge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Stone Ridge Christian will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Denair surely won't give up without a fight.
