Preview: Crown Point Bulldogs vs. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans

After both having extra time off, the Crown Point Bulldogs and the Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Crown Point is ranked 67th, while Indianapolis Bishop Chatard is ranked 87th).

Crown Point struggled with offensive rebounds last Friday (Lake Central had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Crown Point lost to Lake Central on the road by a decisive 57-41 margin.

Crown Point's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Ziolkowski, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, and Rae Holok who scored nine points. The game was Ziolkowski's 15th in a row with at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it five last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 51-26 margin over Covenant Christian. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 24 points or more this season.

Indianapolis Bishop Chatard got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Caskey out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Caskey continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Betsy Tragesser, who scored nine points along with five steals.

Crown Point's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's game: Crown Point have been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 42.8% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, though, as they've only nailed 36.8% of their threes per game this season. Given Crown Point's sizeable advantage in that area, Indianapolis Bishop Chatard will need to find a way to close that gap.
