Denham Springs wins going away against Mandeville

The Mandeville Skippers typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Denham Springs Yellowjackets proved too difficult a challenge. Denham Springs took down Mandeville 63-49. The victory was familiar territory for Denham Springs who now have three in a row.

Denham Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Smith, who scored 17 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least 25% of Denham Springs' points. raegan white was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.

Mandeville's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alanna Benoit, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Benoit's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Carter, who scored 12 points.

Denham Springs' win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Mandeville, they bumped their record down to 6-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Denham Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Benton at 11:15 p.m. on December 2nd. Benton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Denham Springs is ranked tenth). As for Mandeville, they will head out on the road to face off against Amite at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Amite focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
