Volleyball Recap: Longview Falls Despite Big Games from Anna Hernandez and Aubrey Orban

Longview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lindale Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lobos of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2019.

While Longview ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-19.

Longview's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aubrey Orban, who had ten digs and three aces, and Anna Hernandez, who had ten digs.

Leading Lindale to victory were Grace Koustoubardis and Macy Luster. Koustoubardis had 17 digs and two aces, while Luster had 19 assists and eight digs. Luster is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Longview's loss dropped their record down to 22-15. As for Lindale, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-14 record this season.

Longview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Rockwall-Heath on the 24th. As for Lindale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Mabank on the 24th.
