Volleyball Recap: Nazareth Academy Comes Up Short

Nazareth Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers. The Roadrunners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hilltoppers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Nazareth Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-22.

Matt Hounihan paced Nazareth Academy's offense, picking up three kills. Hounihan got some help from Hunter Creaney and his five assists.

Nazareth Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-22. As for Joliet Catholic, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-14.

Nazareth Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Cristo Rey Jesuit on the 9th. As for Joliet Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Glenbard North on the 9th.
