Recap: Ardmore Tigers vs. Central Wildcats
The Ardmore Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Central, falling 49-21. Ardmore lost against Central in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-41 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Ardmore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hayden Durham. Despite the final result, he rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Hunter Palmer, who rushed for 186 yards on only 14 carries. Palmer really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run.
Ardmore's loss was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.3 points per game. As for Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Ardmore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central will head out on the road to face off against Cherokee County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Central likes a good challenge.
