Volleyball Preview: Langley Saxons vs. McLean Highlanders
Langley has won three straight games at home, while McLean has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Langley Saxons will host the McLean Highlanders at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Langley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Meridian.
Langley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 23-25, 28-26, 25-19, 15-12.
Langley found their leader in underclassman William Mo, who had 25 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Osurman, who had 14 digs, three kills, and two aces.
Langley kept the net locked down and finished the game with 11 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in September.
Meanwhile, McLean got the win against George C. Marshall on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.
Langley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for McLean, their victory bumped their record up to 15-0.
