Basketball Recap: Addison Schmidt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rice Lake over Mosinee

Rice Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-50 to the Mosinee Indians.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addison Schmidt, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 20 rebounds. That's the most boards Schmidt has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adaline Sheplee, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Rice Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Mosinee, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Rice Lake will be playing in front of their home fans against River Falls at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Rice Lake is facing River Falls at the right time seeing as River Falls is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Mosinee has already played their next match (against D.C. Everest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
