Baseball Game Preview: Monarch Coyotes vs. Westview Wildcats

The Monarch Coyotes will face off against the Westview Wildcats at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Monarch will be strutting in after a victory while Westview will be coming in after a loss.

Monarch took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Boulder 5-4. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Max Webb looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Preston Hutchings was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Blake Thompson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Westview challenged Paradise Honors on Monday. Westview fell just short of Paradise Honors by a score of 5-4.
