Basketball Recap: Spring Lake Park Takes a Loss

Spring Lake Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 82-66 bruising from the Blaine Bengals. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bengals earlier this season, when they won 72-49.

Spring Lake Park's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Blaine, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Spring Lake Park Panthers take on the Centennial Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Lake Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge. As for Blaine, they will head out to take on Duluth East at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Duluth East will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Blaine surely won't give up without a fight.
