Preview: Mt. Enterprise Wildcats vs. Gary Bobcats

The Mt. Enterprise Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Gary Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Enterprise is hoping to put an end to a 14-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Even though Mt. Enterprise has not done well against Alto recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Mt. Enterprise managed a 55-51 victory over Alto. The victory was just what Mt. Enterprise needed coming off of a 72-47 defeat in their prior game.

Kaegan Ash and Jack Maples were among the main playmakers for Mt. Enterprise as the former scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Maples is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Durrett, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, Gary's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 59-46 to Beckville. While losing is never fun, Gary can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1246th, while Beckville is ranked 341st).

Mt. Enterprise's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Gary, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

Mt. Enterprise didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gary when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Enterprise since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
