Baseball Recap: Wayne County War Eagles vs. East Central Hornets

Wayne County couldn't beat East Central on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The War Eagles fell 8-5 to the Hornets. The War Eagles have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Brayson Graham put in work no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Wayne County got a good showing from Reece Freeman, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Freeman gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.
