Soccer Game Preview: Greeneville vs. Lenoir City

The Greeneville Greene Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Lenoir City Panthers at 6:50 p.m. on Friday.

Greeneville is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 7-2 margin over Volunteer on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for Greeneville in their matchups with Volunteer: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lenoir City duked it out with Pigeon Forge on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Lenoir City's first draw of the season.

Greeneville's win bumped their record up to 2-3. Lenoir City's draw gives them a new season record of 1-2-1.

Greeneville skirted past Lenoir City 1-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greeneville since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
