Basketball Game Preview: Grant Lancers vs. North Hollywood Huskies

Grant has gone 10-0 against North Hollywood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Grant Lancers will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Hollywood Huskies at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Grant saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 68-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Alemany. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Warriors are ranked 85th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from ANDREW BERRY, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of NOAH LETT, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Hollywood). They strolled past Sylmar with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 78-63. The Huskies pushed the score to 59-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans cut but never quite recovered from.

Grant now has a losing record at 5-6. As for North Hollywood, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Everything came up roses for Grant against North Hollywood in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured an 83-48 victory. Will Grant repeat their success, or does North Hollywood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
