Recap: El Capitan/Centennial Academy vs. Grand Canyon Phantoms
Make it nine blowout wins for El Capitan/Centennial Academy this season. They claimed a resounding 55-28 victory over Grand Canyon at home. The victory was nothing new for El Capitan/Centennial Academy as they're now sitting on six straight.
Several Phantoms players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaemie Jensen, who scored ten points along with six steals and three blocks. Jensen is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Grand Canyon, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy will be playing at home against Fredonia at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fredonia's defense has only allowed 26.4 points per game this season, so El Capitan/Centennial Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Grand Canyon, they will head out on the road to face off against Greyhills Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Greyhills Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
