Soccer Recap: Waimea Comes Up Short

Waimea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kauai Red Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Menehunes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 last Tuesday.

Waimea's loss dropped their record down to 0-3-1. As for Kauai, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waimea will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kapa'a at 1:45 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Kapa'a will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Waimea surely won't give up without a fight. Kauai also won't see the pitch for a while: their next contest is against Island at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
