Basketball Recap: Cane Bay Takes a Loss

Cane Bay had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-1 to make it nine. They were dealt a 44-17 loss at the hands of the Timberland Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cobras of the 52-29 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Rylie Crain was Cane Bay's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Jasmine Dargan held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

As for Timberland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Zion Prioleau had an outrageously good game as she posted 21 points and four blocks. Those four blocks gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samara Scott, who put up seven points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

Cane Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-20 win against North Charleston on the 3rd. As for Timberland, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-35 victory against Fort Dorchester on the 3rd.
