Basketball Game Preview: Seneca Indians vs. De Soto Pirates

The Seneca Indians will venture away from home to take on the De Soto Pirates at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Seneca escaped with a win against Ithaca by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for De Soto, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 victory over Weston on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Seneca has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for De Soto, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Seneca was able to grind out a solid win over De Soto when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 61-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seneca since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
