Basketball Recap: Mcdowell's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It's playoff time, and McDowell had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the State College Little Lions by a score of 56-43 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on three straight.

State College lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Charlie Yartz, who shot 50% from the field en route to 18 points. That was a full 41.9% of State College's points, marking the third time in a row Yartz has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Melvin, who put up 11 points.

McDowell's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for State College, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

McDowell will square off against Central Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on March 8th. State College does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
