There's no place like home for Jones, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Robstown Cottonpickers 5-4 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Cottonpickers back in February, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

Caleb Deleon was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jojo Martinez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Jones' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-11-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Robstown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Jones wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-1 victory against Rockport-Fulton on the 8th. As for Robstown, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 loss against Calallen on the 8th.
