Softball Recap: Apple Valley Comes Up Short

Apple Valley and Northview squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Apple Valley had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Sun Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hailey Macias was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Apple Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-9-1. As for Northview, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8-1 record this season.

Apple Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northview, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Indio at 3:15 p.m. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rajahs have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
