Manchester Academy took a 16-run loss the last time they faced off against Central Hinds Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Manchester Academy Mavericks narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Central Hinds Academy Cougars 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Jon Parker Dees was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wrigley Richardson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
