Basketball Game Preview: Nebraska Lutheran Knights vs. Riverside Chargers

The Nebraska Lutheran Knights will challenge the Riverside Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Nebraska Lutheran is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against McCool Junction on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Nebraska Lutheran came up short against McCool Junction, falling 64-38. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Loss or not, Nebraska Lutheran got some senior leadership from Dylan Hoehler and Lukas Worster. Hoehler went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points, while Worster posted 14 points. Worster is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside). They blew past Elba 99-16 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Chargers who have now won five contests in a row.

Riverside pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points over those games. As for Nebraska Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
