Basketball Game Preview: Durant Cougars vs. Palmetto Tigers

Having just played yesterday, the Durant Cougars will jump right back in to play the Palmetto Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Durant took a blow against Sickles, falling 88-50. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Gryphons are ranked 181st).

Durant's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Niko Sosa, who posted four points in addition to six boards and five assists, and Ian Ibanez, who earned eight points. Matthew Suarez was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Palmetto sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 victory over Southeast on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Durant has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Palmetto, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
