Softball Recap: Rogers' Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Rogers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 7-3 to the Mars Hill Bible Panthers. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Piper Gooch was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alona Davis, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Rogers' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mars Hill Bible, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Rogers will venture away from home to face off against West Limestone at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mars Hill Bible, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Mars Hill Bible Panthers challenge Phil Campbell Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Their pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Phil Campbell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
