Basketball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 65-46 to the Girard Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 106th).

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Girard, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Northwestern Wildcats face off against the Fairview Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Girard, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 78-39 victory against Franklin on the 1st.
