Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Devan Domadia and Derick Augustin Lead Cornerstone Charter Academy to Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Cornerstone Charter Academy rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 69-59 win over the Foundation Academy Lions. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Ducks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Lions are ranked 190th).

Leading Cornerstone Charter Academy to victory were Derick Augustin and Devan Domadia. Augustin dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten boards, while Domadia went 7-for-13 on his way to 26 points and six assists. Augustin's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Wood, who posted six points along with 13 rebounds and five assists.

Foundation Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alex Nichols, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave him a new career-high. Riley Michels was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Cornerstone Charter Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points over those games. As for Foundation Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-10.
