Basketball Recap: Lincolnton Takes a Loss

In Friday's Canine Competition, Lincolnton didn't have enough. They fell 83-76 to the Burns Bulldogs on Friday. The Wolves' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lincolnton lost, don't look at Josiah Guyton. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 38 points and ten boards. Guyton's big performance that evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Tucker Robinette was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Lincolnton now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Burns, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Lincolnton will be home for the holidays to greet Stuart W. Cramer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Burns and Bessemer City will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Yellow Jackets have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
