Softball Recap: Tattnall Square Academy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six + How To Watch

Tattnall Square Academy came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Stratford Academy Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Callie Still made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off only one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reese Covington, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Carsyn Atwater was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Tattnall Square Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stratford Academy only managed five hits.

Tattnall Square Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Stratford Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Coming up, Tattnall Square Academy will square off against John Milledge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tattnall Square Academy 3.4, John Milledge Academy 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Stratford Academy, they will challenge Athens Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
