The Conroe Tigers and the Westfield Mustangs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Conroe Tigers had to settle for second. Conroe was outmatched by Westfield on the road and fell 58-20. Conroe's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

It was another big night for Taji Atkins, who rushed for 216 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Atkins has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last six times he's played. Miles Dent was another key contributor, throwing for 217 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.

Conroe's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Westfield, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Conroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westfield is on the road again on Friday and play against Klein Cain at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Klein Cain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Westfield likes a good challenge.
