Softball Preview: Derby Red Raiders vs. Wolcott Eagles
Derby is 0-8 against Wolcott since May of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Red Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Derby is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Derby took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They put the hurt on Crosby with a sharp 15-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Red Raiders needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Kaelyn DiMartino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Alex Davis and Kiera Boyles did most of the damage at the plate: Davis scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Boyles scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
