Basketball Recap: Philip Barbour Takes a Loss

Philip Barbour was the 59-54 winner over North Marion when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Philip Barbour Colts took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Marion Huskies on Tuesday. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Philip Barbour still got an impressive performance from Izzy Knotts, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 14 boards. Knotts also grabbed seven steals, which is notable because Philip Barbour is 10-5 when she posts at least three steals, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ansley Bolyard, who posted two points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Philip Barbour's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for North Marion, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-8.

Philip Barbour wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-54 victory against Buckhannon-Upshur on the 19th. As for North Marion, they will take on Lewis County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
