Baseball Game Preview: Rowlett Eagles vs. Lakeview Centennial Patriots

For the second straight game, Rowlett will face off against Lakeview Centennial. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rowlett's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Lakeview Centennial's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Rowlett barely beat Lakeview Centennial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Landon Bertucci, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Lakeview Centennial off the board. Bertucci has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rowlett got a massive performance out of Naphtali Orozco, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Orozco has posted since back in February. River Kirkhuff was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Rowlett is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeview Centennial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
