Basketball Recap: Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Piles Up the Points Against Lexington

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy entered their tilt with Lexington on Monday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Lexington Golden Bears 75-35. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Genie Mcghee went 5 of 9 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and six assists and Leslie Hames posted 22 points and eight rebounds. Mcghee has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 44 times she's played. Aaliyah Troupe was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Lexington, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
