Basketball Recap: Broadwater Comes Up Short

Broadwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fairfield Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Eagles are ranked fourth).

It was another big night for Deron Lear, who went 8 for 19 en route to 30 points and seven rebounds for Fairfield. The match was Lear's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Reed Von Stein, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 16 points and seven boards.

Broadwater's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Fairfield, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Broadwater has already played their next game (against White Sulphur Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fairfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-16 win against Belt on the 30th.
