Recap: Meridian Hawks vs. Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions
After a string of three wins, the Meridian Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Christ Our Rock Lutheran 50-46. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Meridian has scored all season.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sebastian Hill, who scored 19 points. Hill scored a full 41.3% of Meridian's points, the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Brooks Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 rebounds and five assists.
Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season.
Meridian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Flora at 3:30 p.m. on December 27, 2023. Christ Our Rock Lutheran and Shelbyville will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shelbyville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
