Softball Recap: Senath-Hornersville Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Senath-Hornersville and Malden meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Lions came up short against the Green Wave, falling 11-1. The Lions have struggled against the Green Wave recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Senath-Hornersville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Walker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Senath-Hornersville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Malden, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Senath-Hornersville will square off against Twin Rivers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Malden, they will take on East Carter at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Redbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.79 runs per game on average), something the Green Wave will no doubt try to take advantage of.
