Basketball Recap: New Ulm Takes a Loss

New Ulm was the 67-38 winner over Maple River when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The New Ulm Eagles lost 70-50 to the Maple River Eagles on Thursday. The match marked New Ulm's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

New Ulm dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Maple River, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Ulm and Minnesota Valley Lutheran will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Minnesota Valley Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Maple River, they and Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Maple River likes a good challenge.
