It's playoff time, and Columbia City had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings 4-2. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Emma Hiss was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Mylie Ward was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Brady, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Columbia City's record is now 18-5. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
