Carterville is a perfect 10-0 against Anna-Jonesboro since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Anna-Jonesboro took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carterville, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Carterville was fully in charge, breezing past Frankfort 52-23. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Redbirds recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Anna-Jonesboro had to suffer through a 73-35 loss at the hands of Benton. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Rangers are ranked 46th).

The win got Carterville back to even at 12-12. As for Anna-Jonesboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Carterville beat Anna-Jonesboro 58-48 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carterville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
