Preview: International Christian Titans vs. Girard College Cavaliers
The International Christian Titans will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Girard College Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, International Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-44 to Community Academy of Philadelphia. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for International Christian in their matchups with Community Academy of Philadelphia: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Girard College took a serious blow against Germantown Academy on Saturday, falling 73-23. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Girard College came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Germantown Academy is ranked 124th).
Despite their loss, Girard College saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Antoine Seals, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. Seals scored a full 30.4% of Girard College's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
International Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Girard College, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
International Christian was taken down by Girard College 95-30 when the teams last played back in January of 2017. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point International Christian was down 61-15.
