Flag Football Game Preview: Grandview Wolves vs. Smoky Hill Buffaloes

The Grandview Wolves will challenge the Smoky Hill Buffaloes at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grandview is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Grandview against Overland as the team secured a 41-7 victory. Considering the Wolves have won five matchups by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grandview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Solvie Youde out in front who rushed for 90 yards and one score. Those 90 rushing yards gave Youde a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Sullivan, who threw for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81.8% of her passes.

Grandview's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by Jayden Schwabauer and Collette Esquibel, who racked up all nine sacks between them. Esquibel is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Aniya Coleman got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Smoky Hill's offense. They were outmatched by Arapahoe and fell 32-0. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Smoky Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Grandview, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Everything came up roses for Grandview against Smoky Hill in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 33-0 win. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
