Football Recap: Niwot Takes a Loss

If Niwot was riding high fresh off their 33-13 takedown of Wheat Ridge two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Niwot took a hard 34-17 fall against Evergreen on Friday. The matchup marked Niwot's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gianni Volpe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Evergreen, rushing for 227 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Volpe is now averaging an impressive 103.5 rushing yards per game.

Niwot now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Evergreen, their record is now 3-1.

Niwot wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 59-7 defeat against Windsor on the 10th. As for Evergreen, they have also already played their next matchup, a 58-0 victory against Summit on the 10th.
