Softball Recap: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans vs. Louisburg Warriors
Southern School of Energy and Sustainability extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-12 in the process. They lost 19-9 to the Louisburg Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.
Akirah Boldin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Natalynn Snipes-Draine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
As for Louisburg, the victory got them back to even at 8-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Louisburg's side, Lindsey Lundy spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. Lundy has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will face off against South Granville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Louisburg, they will challenge Durham School of the Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 17-game losing streak.
