Basketball Game Preview: Marsing Huskies vs. New Plymouth Pilgrims

Marsing hasn't had much luck against New Plymouth recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Marsing Huskies will take on the New Plymouth Pilgrims at 7:35 p.m.

Marsing easily dispatched Vision last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Marsing fell just short of Nampa Christian by a score of 51-49 on Friday.

Meanwhile, New Plymouth hadn't done well against Melba recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. New Plymouth walked away with a 59-47 win over Melba.

New Plymouth has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Marsing, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Marsing skirted past New Plymouth 47-45 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marsing since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
